Glasgow Caledonian University has a long tradition of conducting research that is economically and socially relevant, applying new knowledge to problems of global significance in areas such as health, the environment and economic development. In the RAE 2008, more than three quarters of the research GCU submitted was judged to be of international quality, with particular success in Rehabilitative Health Sciences and the Built and Natural Environment. Through our business gateway - the Applied Knowledge Exchange - the university's academic schools, research centres and cross-university research institutes have forged strong partnerships with business and the public sector.
