How we can help you

  • R&D Industry: University Collaborative Funding: We set up research programs and actively source sponsored and collaborative research funding. We aim to attract leading industries to foster technology transfer innovation and knowledge exchange. We also set up consortia in response to funding body calls which can be either industry or university-led.
  • Technology Licensing: We maintain a portfolio of proprietary technologies developed in RGU which are available for licensing. For more information on this, see University technology links section.
  • Spin-off Company Formation & Investment Opportunities: We facilitate the creation of new spin-off or start-up companies and joint ventures. RGU has entered into a long-term strategic partnership/alliance with Frontier IP, a Scottish technology commercialisation business, so we are always keen to discuss investment opportunities.
  • Consultancy & Facilities: RGU offers consultancy interventions ranging from training needs analyses, brainstorming, business simulation and innovation audits to maintaining a productive and healthy workforce and working environment. We also have access to academic expertise, expert directory and facilities within our Faculties, Schools and Research Institutes which can lead to strong networking possibilities.
  • Courses: We provide learning and development solutions drawing on the expertise within RGU. These range from industry-relevant award bearing programmes to customised training targeting specific business requirements, with a range of flexible delivery options.
  • Competency & Capability Assurance: As well as working with organisations to create and deliver customised training RGU also delivers tailored assessment to provide assurance that employees have achieved the required outcomes and standards of competency. This applies not only to RGU training but also that of third party or organisations’ own learning programmes.

Areas of Research Expertise

Our three Research Institutes provide a focus for the delivery of research and knowledge transfer within RGU: Institute for Health and Welfare Research, Institute for Innovation, Design and Sustainability Research (IDEAS), and Institute for Management, Governance and Society Research (IMaGeS). Although based within the Faculties, membership of the Institutes crosses boundaries with each Institute being thematic rather than discipline-based. Each Institute carries out research which is relevant to the external community.

Themes within the Institutes: Business and Enterprise; Governance and Society; Information and Communication; Cardiovascular and Metabolic Disease; Neurological and Mental Health; Environmental and Occupational Health; Creativity, Design and Innovation; Energy, Environment and Sustainability; Digital Technologies.
