Research themes include tree health and quality, timber quality, biomass, plant protection, sustainable management and biosecurity.

Alongside its traditional research, Forest Research continues to innovate, and have moved into new areas such as tourism, recreation and human wellbeing, land reclamation, climate change and renewable energy.
