Interfacewas established in 2005 and has introduced over 900 businesses to academic partners. Since inception, the following activity has been generated:

over 1557 enquiries progressed to establishing capability and capacity
473 company - academic collaborative projects initiated
222 companies in discussion or negotiation with Universities and Research Institutes
74% of companies who have initiated projects have not previously worked with that academic partner
66% of enquiries are from Scottish SME's
15% of enquiries are from Scottish Based Companies
13% of enquiries are from the rest of the UK and International organisations
Interface comprises over 24 partner Universities and Research Institutes within Scotland, each offering a wide breadth of expertise in many different areas.

Interface has been awarded funding until 2013 from The Scottish Funding Council. Interface also receives financial support from the Scottish Government under the SEEKIT programme to support the participation of Research Institutes.
