A Healthier Scotland: AHRC and SFC call for proposals on health, environment and the arts and humanities The Scottish Funding Council (SFC), in conjunction with Arts and Humanities Research Council (AHRC), has announced a call for knowledge exchange proposals in health, the environment and the arts and humanities, worth up to £50k per annum over 2 years. The projects will enable academics to work with partner(s) in any non-academic field, which may be a commercial enterprise, a not-for-profit organisation, a charity or a public body based within Scotland. An indicative (but not exhaustive) list of topics could include: - healthcare settings, the effects of architecture and design on access to and perceptions of healthcare, patient satisfaction and clinical efficacy;
- how urban and rural spaces impact on individual health and wellbeing;
- healthcare and the virtual world: benefits to clinical practice and the patient experience; and
- how the language and history of healthcare can inform current approaches and change behaviours.
How to Apply:
Applications must be made from Scottish HEI institutions funded by the SFC.The non HEI partner may be based within any non-academic field, and may be a commercial enterprise, a not-for-profit organisation, a charity or a public body based within Scotland. The scheme is aimed at any size of organisation including Micro and Small Enterprises and more than one partner is permitted. Completed forms should be emailed to AHRCProposals@sfc.ac.uk by noon, 11 October 2010.
