The Scottish Knowledge Exchange Awards recognise, reward and celebrate the impacts achieved through academic and business partnerships – apply now and show Scotland how innovative businesses, universities, research institutes and colleges are leading the way towards economic growth, societal improvements and environmental advances.

Interface are seeking the most innovative and successful business-academic collaborations that are happening across Scotland to recognise, reward and celebrate the impacts achieved. Help us spread the word to show how academic-business collaborations are helping to deliver the Scottish Government’s vision for a smarter, fairer, wealthier and greener Scotland.

 

Applications are invited for the following categories:

  • Building Skills through Knowledge Exchange Award

Open to final year students, Postgraduate Students or KTP Associates who have been hosted or sponsored by a business based in Scotland for a minimum of three months for a specific project that has led to increased innovation within the company as well as increasing the skills of the individual student or associate.

  • Innovation of the Year Award

Awarded to an innovative product, process or service that has been developed over the past five years. Applications should demonstrate how academic partnership has been fundamental in supporting the product, service or process innovation.

  • Multiparty Collaboration Award

Open to groups of consortia involving three or more parties working together on an innovative research project and include research partner from academia and at least one business. Applications should demonstrate innovation and impact as a result of working together to solve a common challenge while also having a significant benefit for each party involved.

  • Outstanding Contribution to Knowledge Exchange Award

Recognising an individual in academia (university, college, research institute, Innovation Centre), business or support organisation who has made an outstanding contribution to Knowledge Exchange. Applications should demonstrate how the individual has gone the extra mile.

  • Social and Environmental Impact Award

Celebrating collaborative projects which have achieved significant social or environmental impacts that ultimately contribute towards a better, fairer and more sustainable future.

To note: the Sustained Partnership category will run every two years and will be back in 2019.

Judging:
The Scottish Knowledge Exchange Awards, are judged by a panel of leading figures from academia, industry and members of the Interface Strategic Board, ensuring that all applications are rigorously and fairly assessed.

 

Award Ceremony:

The Scottish Knowledge Exchange Awards, will be hosted at the RBS Gogarburn Conference Centre in Edinburgh on Thursday 22nd February 2018 from 12.00 – 18.00, and is the ideal opportunity to meet, celebrate and network with Scotland’s foremost innovative businesses, academics and individuals who are leading the way in collaborative knowledge exchange.
