ESRC (Economic and Social Research Council) - CASE Studentship Proposals
General Information:
CASE is the biggest of the collaborative schemes funded as part of Economic and Social Research Council ESRC's commitment to Knowledge Transfer. Collaborative studentships encourage greater interaction between business organisations and academic research by providing opportunities for students based in the UK's academic institutions to carry out research in conjunction with private, public or third/voluntary sector organisations. This promotes knowledge and skills transfer as well as the opportunity for students to experience working in a non-academic environment that will be useful after the completion of their studies. The student's research focuses on a topic of mutual interest to themselves, the academic institution and the collaborating organisation. The student receives financial support from both the ESRC and the collaborating organisation. Project proposals can be in any area within the Economic and Social Research Council's remit. Collaborating partners can be from the private, public or voluntary sectors.
How to Apply:
The application deadline for the 2010/11 studentship allocation has now passed. The call for the 2011/12 proposals will be open shortly. Applications must be submitted through the Joint Electronic Submission (Je-S) System. Postal submission is not possible.
Eligibility:
Calls are open to all CASE-recognised institutional departments (in collaboration with a partner from any non-academic sector). Project proposals can be in any area within the Economic and Social Research Council's remit. Collaborating partners can be from the private, public or voluntary sectors.
