ESRC (Economic and Social Research Council) - Business Placement Fellows Scheme

General Information:

The Economic and Social Research Council (ESRC) - Business Placement Fellows Scheme gives your business access to high quality research knowledge, expertise and evidence to help your business develop. Experienced researchers work with you on projects crucial to your business needs to undertake practical and relevant research.

  • The scheme is flexible and shaped to reflect business need:
  • Researchers can be placed in your business organisation, your employee could undertake a placement in a research environment, or a combination of both.
  • Placements can be from one to twelve months in duration and in time periods to suit your business needs.

Placements are co-funded with ESRC. The ESRC are keen that you talk to them and use this resource to make your business more successful through the unique, cost effective business Placement Fellows Scheme, which:

  • Promotes the transfer and exchange of knowledge between higher education institutions and business organisations, and the staff employed within them.
  • Provides businesses with research-informed evidence to develop and review operational and management practices.
  • Expands networks for business and industry into academia and vice versa.
  • Provides career development opportunities and offers skills updating.
  • Develops understanding of the interaction between research and the development of operational and management practices in business and industry.
