CogniHealth Ltd

CogniHealth collaborated with the University of the Highlands & Islands to strengthen the monitor-and-track functionality and add interactive features to their healthcare app.

Gill Orde in Catering Ltd, based in Kelso, in the heart of the Scottish Borders, was developing an innovative online software programme to fulfill the need for a documented food safety management system which would help catering companies deal with the ongoing demands of European food legislation. In order to prove that the system could be commercially successful, Interface linked Gill up with the University of Strathclyde.

Robop

Robop is a unique approach to bird control. Designed to mimic a peregrine falcon in all aspects of sound and movement, it's purpose is to act as a deterrent to other birds on buildings and farmland alike. Keen to ensure Robop was as effective as possible, founder Bob McIntyre contacted Interface who put him in touch with the University of St Andrew's Dr Will Cresswell, an expert in the behavioural ecology of birds.

Replin

Replin, the Peebles based materials manufacturer, supplies the international aviation market. Realising the trend towards 'smart' textiles was a key development area they sought out Interface to link them with industry academics to keep them competitive. Their relationship with Robert Gordon University has been a success with the University using their expertise to help the company recruit for product development.

Quality Scotland

Keen to develop an e-learning tool to take their quality management service to rural communities, Quality Scotland asked Interface to source key expertise from Scotland's universities. Interface connected the company with industry leaders North Highland College who have developed with them new materials perfectly suited to their new target market.

The Medical Device Company

The Medical Device Company specialise in helping clients in the plastics and disposable medical device industry take their ideas from initial concept to production. One of their clients needed a product outside their remit and so the company faced a potentially expensive product development process in an unknown field. Using their current research Napier University were able to save the company time and money by quickly directing them to a more effective industry solution.

Kodak

Industry giant Kodak remain market leader in a constantly changing photographic industry by investing heavily in leading research and development. They teamed up with Interface, who linked them with the University of Glasgow, in order to access the breadth of skills available in Scotland's world class academic institutions.

Kanthal

The world's leading manufacturer of resistance heating elements generating, measuring and controlling the heat in all types of household appliances - your kettle and fridge to name just two, Kanthal realised that in order to remain so they would need to research more innovative ways to increase the bending strength of their product. Such is the technical accuracy required of these products and associated testing, Interface were ideally placed to find an academic solution and subsequently linked the company with Edinburgh Napier University.

Hunting Energy Services (UK) Ltd

Hunting Energy Services (UK), part of international provider Hunting PLC, was keen to access academic expertise in order to carry out key technical research and development. Knowing Interface as the key knowledge connection for business, this would be the ideal partnership. Interface were delighted to help and connected them to both the University of Glasgow and the University of Dundee who addressed three projects in total.

The Mentholatum Company Ltd specialises in the manufacture of and supply of high quality healthcare products to the UK, Europe, Africa and the Middle East. In the process of developing a new range of skincare cosmetic products for the treatment of acne, they needed to collaborate with an academic specialist who would be able to validate their range.

Canon Medical Research Europe Ltd

Canon Medical Research Europe Ltd (previously Toshiba Medical Visualization Systems Europe Ltd), part of Canon Medical Systems, is responsible for the design and development of cutting edge products and technology for use in medical imaging equipment. The company was keen to tap into the expertise available within clinical and academic groups developing new technologies in the brain imaging field to further support its intensive research and development activities.
